Lola Beatrice Greer was born April 21, 1909 in Pilot Point, Texas. She was the youngest of four children.
She was raised in Oklahoma City and attended Douglass High School. She shared her gifts and talents while serving as a member of the East Sixth Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Wildwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She attended Jarvis Christian college, and Wilberforce University in Ohio where she earned her BS degree. While at Wilburforce she became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. through the Xi Chapter on May 10, 1930.
She later earned her MS degree from the University of Denver. She also attended the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Oklahoma.
On December 12, 1936, Lola B. Greer joined with 4 other women to charter the Chi Zeta Chapter in Oklahoma City. This chartering group was lead by E. Juanita Tate, often referred to as the Dean of the Region. The Chi Zeta Chapter was the first member of the NPHC in Oklahoma City.
Greer served as the 2nd President of the Chi Zeta Chapter, and the 4th Regional Director of the Midwestern Region. She became a life member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., worked closely with the Stork's Nest and served on the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes. In 1967, Ms. Greer was named Zeta of the Year by the Chi Zeta chapter.
Greer was a mathematician and algebra teacher at Moon Junior High and later at Douglass High School. In 1965, She was the first black teacher of Oklahoma City to receive the teacher of the year award. She retired from the Oklahoma City public school system. Her work experience included statistical clerk at the department of commerce in Washington, DC and an Upward Bound teacher at Langston University. Lola B. Greer was also a member of NEA, OEA, and Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association.
In 1962 Ms. Greer awarded a scholarship recognizing mathematical achievement to a college bound high school senior. In the 1997-1998 Sorority Year Lola Greer contributed $1000 to the Chi Zeta Charter Member Scholarship Fund.
Lola B. Greer died on September 18, 2000. Her legacy of Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood lives on through the countless students, Zetas, Amicae, Archonetts, church members, and others with whom she came into contact with.
