Since 1990 following the Greek Summit II held in St. Louis, Missouri, Zeta Phi Beta has taken a stance against hazing in any form or fashion and adopted the recommendations for Membership Intake put forth by that body. These recommendations called for policies to address the issue of hazing for individuals seeking membership into the respective Greek-letter organizations. Since 1990, the policies and stance of the sorority have continued to evolve to reflect the changes in state laws, changes in policies/procedures on college/university campuses, and changes within the sorority. However, the message remains the same, “there shall be no “pledging”, “re-pledging” nor “post pledging” process in any of the constituent organizations comprising the National Pan-Hellenic Council Organization.”
In addressing hazing in the Greek-letter culture and society as a whole, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has been progressive in the areas noted below and continue to “push” forward in eradicating this issue from our sorority and society.
